Respite Care Services
A new in-home respite care is now available! It has been specially designed for autistic people of all ages (currently diagnosed OR awaiting diagnosis OR in the process of being diagnosed with autism) and their families.
We know how important it is for you to be able to count on trustworthy support tailored to your loved one’s needs. Thanks to our service, you can enjoy moments of respite with the assurance that your child or loved one is being cared for by qualified, caring caregivers trained in the specifics of autism spectrum disorder. During this time, you can breathe a sigh of relief and take some time out for yourself.

It is important to note that the costs associated with in-home respite start at $19/hour (depending on the person’s profile and the presence of siblings), payable directly to the caregiver (who will be self-employed, under the clinical supervision of Autisme Estrie). Financial support may be offered when funds are available and according to certain criteria. If costs are an obstacle, contact your CLSC caregiver. If you don’t have a caregiver, please contact the respite care services supervisor.
Please complete the 6 forms (below) and return them by e-mail to superviseurrepit@autisme-estrie.com.
The consent form is used to refer your family to a caregiver for respite care. Your file cannot be processed until it has been signed and returned to us. Moreover, if the forms are not complete, the file will not be put on the waiting list. Please note that you will be contacted once we have received your completed forms and a match with a worker is possible. The match will depend on your needs, and the worker’s schedule and availability. This may take from 1 week to several months.
